This article talks about the backlash of overparenting. Parents are getting so protective, that they have actually become crazy with it. Hovering over every little thing, and fighting over the littlest things. Pencil Holding tutors and tree's being cut down for the sake of it falling into a swimming pool. Absolutely insane.
The way I see it, bad things are going to happen to kids even if parents are hovering over them constantly. They're going to get in trouble, its what we do. We're allowed to make mistakes. And it seems that bad things, like kidnappings, happen all the time, but they really don't. 1 in a million, maybe. It is good to take precautions against it, like telling your kids about Stranger Danger, but taking pictures of them, everyday before school so you know what your kid looked like that day, just in case? Little crazy.
Being a kid, if my mom was like this, I would do things just to make her mad. To make her stop being so crazy. "If you really want your child to suceed, know when to leave them alone". Makes sense, doesn't it?
